BE
MORE CREATIONS
Engaged in a many forms
of professional creativity, Blake More's work
ranges from book and magazine writing to spoken
word performance and static trapeze contortion,
from teaching poetry and drama to K-12 students
to fine art collage, assemblage sculpture and
"functional" collage done on light switch
plates.
The author of two full-length books and one book
of poetry, Blake's work has appeared in
magazines and journals worldwide, including,
Yoga Journal, Tokyo Time Out, Utne Reader, and
Alternative Medicine. Under the aegis of Be More
Creations, Blake's two-dimensional work has been
shown internationally and can be found in
private collections in the US, Canada, Mexico,
and Japan. Be More Creations is based out of
Point Arena, California.
Ranging from wall collage,
sculptural assemblage mobiles, furniture collage
(tables, trunks, and lamp shades), and collaged
light switch plates (called Poetic Turn-Ons),
Blake likes to mix paper with hard, lasting
surfaces such as wood, plastic and metal. By
incorporating the permanent with the transitory,
she feels that the artwork continues to reflect
her toaist based, jnana yogic
philosophy.
Since Blake is always creating something, a
revolving selection of her original artwork is
always available for sale. Her Poetic Turn-Ons
can be made to order. (singles available for $15
each, doubles $20 each, plus S&H; to
order)
