Beta was born in Pennsylvania. From there she migrated first to San Francisco ...... then on to Santa Fe. No matter where her travels have taken her, she has always liked to work with her hands and create things.




The chance to study weaving and textile design lured her to the Mendocino Art Center on the north coast of California. When the textile program closed she started taking classes at the College of the Redwoods. One morning something told her, "You should take Bob Rhoades' watercolor class." Her response was "Yes!" even though she had no desire to paint. She fell in love with moving the colors on the paper with the brush. It was so much faster than weaving! That class led to color & design, which led to her enrolling in the graphic design program.




She graduated in May, 1999 with an Associate of Science degree in Graphic Communications. What you see here is the fruits of her labor from classwork and outside exploration.
